The Brent Social Progress Index (SPI) is an interactive data tool that measures how Brent's 22 wards are performing across a wide range of social outcomes. It focuses on what life is like for Brent's communities, covering areas such as, health, housing, safety, education, access to services and opportunity. The index draws from 48 different indicators across three key dimensions:
Basic Human Needs - Assesses the extent to which wards have access to the essentials required for safety, shelter and health.
Foundations of Wellbeing - Evaluates whether wards have the right conditions and support to sustain long-term health and stability.
Opportunity - Measure whether residents have the freedom and support to improve their lives.
The index can be accessed via a dashboard which summarises data visually by ward and indicator. More details about the index, and the statistical methodology used to produce it, are available below.
